So my PF team members asked me to blog and show my workspace. I thought about it all week and almost decided to do something different for this blog because I don't really have a designated crafting area. Unfortunately, it's called the dining room! But then I decided I would show what it looks like when I'm working...#1 because, well, that's what it looks like and #2 because I thought it might be a little extra plug to the husband that I NEED a craft room! I keep telling him we need to close in the carport!!! Honey, if you're reading this, the house would be SOOOOOO much cleaner if I had ONE room to do everything! (Ok, promotional plug over!)
Since I do bows and flip flops and painted items, I have TONS of supplies. Right now I'm making use of lots of tubs and totes that I transport from one room to the next as needed. The pics I'm going to show you are actually of a relatively neat crafting workspace. When I'm getting ready for a show or doing lots of things at once, it can be much, MUCH worse!

The dining room table - half paint area, half computer area |
|
We have a fabulous built-in bar in the dining room. When we bought the house, I said it would be the perfect place for the girls to do their homework. Unfortunately, it's usually covered with paints, ribbons, etc. |
|
Ribbon, ribbon, and MORE ribbon....and this doesn't even show the ribbon stored in tubs in my bedroom! |
Like I said, this is neat compared to some days....I didn't even bother to take a pic of my storage chest in my room...or the tub of already made hairbows...or the tubs of bottlecaps, embellishments, etc. Oh well, it's my semi-organized chaos.
But if I can do what I enjoy doing (and make a little money off of it), then I'll take that! Now go buy something from my
shop so I can save money to FINALLY close in that carport!
Thanks for sharing your workspace! :-)
ReplyDeletelol! Husbands never think we need a work space of our own :)
ReplyDeleteI do have a room to myself, but there was no way I was taking photo's of it today and posting them. It's a mess! Good thing it has a door I can close :)
Great plug to your husband....love it! My husband got sick of the mess everywhere so he was GLAD to have me take over 2 rooms...LOL! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy laptop is on the dining room table too. I'm blessed to have a PC upstairs.
ReplyDeletemine is semi organized chaos also.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see that I´m not the only using the family spaces for my crafts.
ReplyDeleteLovely place.
it looks like the space works for you. But I think you should keep working on your hubby for the carport. ;)
ReplyDeleteIf it works, then it is perfect. Getting paid to do what you love. Now, that is perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like alot of frenzy ladies are crafting from their diningroom table....good for you, I am too much of a neat freak.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great reason NOT to be too neat and organized, if you drive your husband crazy enough with the clutter perhaps he will make you a studio!
ReplyDeletehahahah dont worry!!! my workspace is the dining table too!!!!
ReplyDeletegreat workspace!
I am so glad to have a room just for work~!
ReplyDeleteBut I am spilling over into the dining room right now. Oh my my....
TO THE HUBBY: close in the carport!!!
ReplyDeleteI kept such a mess in our old house, my hubby gave me the second bedroom in our new apt all to myself!
I hope your husband read this and you get your wish fulfilled!
ReplyDeleteLove you quote "semi-organized chaos"
ReplyDeleteHope you get your space soon!
ReplyDeleteYou need alot of space for your work, and it looks just perfect to me!
ReplyDeleteTubs and totes are so essential! I want a devoted space too! :)
ReplyDeleteA table here; a closet there and a shelf or 10 is all that we need when we start. However, that soon changes.
ReplyDeleteI giggled over the promoting plug...good luck!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you shared!! Most of us do not really have a designated area for our craft. It is neat to see where and how a creative process happens. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHey, I do not have a specific place. I'd like to have one, maybe one day it'll happen.
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to see your workspace! The dining room table's always a good spot to camp out :)
ReplyDeleteFunny and creative! A great combination! Thanks for sharing your workspace!
